Woody is Maddie's 'Bestie'
Maddie Woodhouse (10W2) has been working hard out of school with her best friend... rescue dog Woody.
Over the last 18 months they have competed in a lot of shows, winning 20+ plus rosettes and medals, including Best Child Handler; Best in Show; Best Tricks, and the list goes on.
On Monday 28th May Maddie’s dream came true when they took part in ‘Scruffs’ at the All about Dogs Show at Hylands House in Chelmsford. They came 1st in the ‘Child's Best Friend’ category and have now been invited to the Discover Dogs semi-finals in October at the Excel Exhibition Centre in London’s Docklands. If they win there, they will be invited to take part in CRUFTS 2019 in the Scruffs Category!
Maddie’s Mum and Dad said, “Since having Woody, Maddie’s confidence has grown massively – and the obedience and agility classes she loves to do with Woody - and which take up her evenings and weekends - are amazing.
As Maddie’s family, we are so proud of her, as are her training team and friends.... it's not always about the grades, but sometimes about commitment, love and determination – plus that special bond.”
