The St Clere's Players
Formed in 2001, The St Clere's Players is our school’s theatrical troupe and we have seen many successes emerge from its ranks. We have ex-students who are professional actors, singers and even pop artists. Some of our previous backstage teams also work in professional theatre too. The St Clere’s Players have entertained us over the years with high quality shows that our school invests in heavily, such ‘Little Shop of Horrors’, ‘Honk!’, ‘Our House’, ‘Bugsy Malone', ‘Grease’, ‘Oliver’ and most recently ‘Hairspray'.
Showcasing our talented actors, singers, dancers, musicians and stagehands, members are drawn from across the school and always give up many hours of their own time for rehearsals under the direction of Mr Brown, who has been the Head of Drama for over 20 years. Mr Brown is now supported by Miss Aldridge, who herself has worked in the West End as an actress. The St Clere’s Players have established a fantastic reputation in our community. The shows have been staged at our school and at the Thameside Theatre.
The togetherness and ethos of The St Clere’s Players ensures that our casts are highly dedicated and committed to producing polished show performances. The shows always sell well and create a great buzz around the school the week of the performances.
