Creative Writing Club

The Creative Writing Club is open to all Year 7 and Year 8 students interested in writing poetry, prose, plays, song lyrics, graphic novels, and other genres.

The purpose of the Creative Writing Club is to provide a positive and productive atmosphere for developing student writers to integrate, learn, and grow. But most importantly to have fun, to get involved and try something new.

So far this term we have looked at developing characters, poetry, descriptive writing, interactive storytelling, short stories, round the clock writing, quick writing and we are now going to look at writing for the BBC 500 word challenge which is a great opportunity for all who enter it.

The session is supported by an English teacher to support and guide the group in their creative development. It is also a great place to make friends with the people in the year group and others as well as sharing creative ideas with each other.

The club is every Thursday after school for 2:50 – 3:50.
