3 Top Awards for St Clere's

This year's Thurrock Education Awards took place on Friday 10th November.  These annual awards are an opportunity to celebrate how the residents of Thurrock appreciate our schools and recognise excellence.

St Clere's featured heavily in the awards, with our Maths Department winning the 'Excellence in English and/or maths'  and Team Science winning the 'Excellence in science and technologies' award.

Mrs Hughes was joint winner of the prestigious 'Head teacher of the year in secondary education, special education, alternative or post-16 provision'.

St Clere's finalists just missing out on the top spot were:

Lauren Smith,'Teacher of the year in secondary education' category;
Jordan Stevens, 'Outstanding new teacher' category;
Paul Newbury, 'Education support' category.

A happy Mrs Hughes said, "I am delighted to have been nominated and then a winner in the Head teacher category. However, a leader is only as good as the team they work with so, in my eyes, this award is also recognition of the excellent staff team at St Clere’s who I have the pleasure of working closely with every day.
