Exciting Activities - Cyber Security
"My name is Mr Hall and I am the new Head of Computing and IT at St Clere’s.
There are a couple of new exciting activities for students to do during the summer holiday.
The first one is Cyber4Summer.
This is a joint initiative between cutting-edge cyber training provider Immersive Labs and the UK’s National Crime Agency (NCA).
Cyber4Summer’s aim is to provide a safe, fun and legal environment where young people can learn and develop cybersecurity skills. Cyber4Summer consists of over 100 labs of various skill levels, where you can learn some of the core skills for a range of jobs including Cyber Investigator, Digital Forensics Expert and Network Security Analyst.
These could be your first steps on a pathway to a computer science-related qualification or a well-paid job in the tech industry.
Cyber4Summer offers challenging labs for all abilities, whether you consider yourself a beginner or an experienced cyber student.
To learn more about how the NCA’s National Cyber Crime Unit and regional and local Police Force cyber teams are working with young people, please visit www.cyberchoices.uk
As part of that you can defend CyberLand from cyber attack in some fun games https://cybergamesuk.com/
The second computing activity that I would like all students to be involved with is Cyber Discovery.
St Clere's school is now registered to be a Cyber Discovery school.
This means you can take part in cyber security learning -register now at https://joincyberdiscovery.com/ .
Cyber security is the protection of computer systems and networks from the theft of or damage to their hardware, software, or electronic data, as well as from the disruption or misdirection of the services they provide.
We will be having sessions after school when we can, to start a cyber security club, but for now you can log in with this code: impact-false-concern-prevent.
If you have any questions in relation to these two great initiative’s please contact me on my school email address"
