Email information for parents :

Dear Parents,

It has come to my attention that information for our annual Swimming Gala has not been properly relayed by the form tutors and this email will hopefully answer any questions you have about the event.

The Gala will take place this Sunday (June 9th) at Basildon Sporting Village.

The event is open to all pupils and they will compete within their house groups. All pupils who attend the event will score a point for their house, regardless of whether they choose to swim. Pupils who wish to compete should liaise with their form tutors and form captains to get out a team. Sheets have been going round since last term. There are lots of races to choose from across all swimming disciplines. You do not have to be a fantastic swimmer, all abilities are welcome to compete.

The Gala will begin at 6pm so please arrive from around 5.45 to get changed and to the holding areas where PE staff will organise pupils into their races. Pupils should wear appropriate swimming attire with a t shirt for poolside.

Parents are able to view the gala from the seating areas poolside.

Various trophies will be presented at the end of the evening including best in house swimmer.

If you have any further questions please speak to your child’s form tutor or any member of the Physical Education Department.

Yours faithfully

Mr A Salmon
